Post-pregnancy Life

Before we found out I was pregnant in November, we both had lost weight with Nutrisystem and mountain biking. I even blogged a comparison photo of us here.  Most husbands tell us that they gained a bunch of weight when their wives got pregnant, but mine did the opposite. He signed up for a CrossFit gym in February and has been obsessed since. In fact, over the last few months, he has turned half of our garage into his own CrossFit gym. You can see a significant gain in his muscle tone, with a loss of 17 lbs. since he started. He also eats incredibly healthy and appropriate for his goals. Even though it wasn't fun to watch him shrink while I was becoming a whale, I am so proud of him! And I know his enthusiasm will carry over into training me when the time comes.

In preparation for my return to fitness, I bought some new shoes last night. I think they are pretty snazzy :)

Plus I can wear them now with my compression socks because they are so comfortable. I am anxious to jump into the CrossFit world once I am cleared for exercise. I am also excited to ride my mountain bike again - it's been so long! I have lost weight before, but I want to take it to a different level and see muscle tone develop in my arms, legs and core.

Just a few things to look forward to when I'm not pregnant because honestly, I know I am going to miss it. :(

  1. I definitely giggled when I saw the compression socks in the picture. :) Love the shoes!

  2. I actually had just started Cross Fit when I got pregnant. That fourth week was soo hard and I didn't know why (turns out it was because I was pregnant and my body was making me slow down). And then I was forced to take a break because of an injury. Turns out my break is going to be nine months. I can't wait to go back though. I know you will love it!

Everyone I know becomes obsessed because it makes you feel so much better and stronger. You will have to post on it and let us know how it is going once you start!

  3. Yea, so I totally started to cry reading this post because you getting ready for post pregnancy life means Grayson will be here SUPER SOON! It's the hormones =P

  4. I love your shoes!

I started my pregnancy extremely overweight. I gaind 25 pounds during the pregnancy, but now, 4.5 months later I've lost almost 50! It's definitely do-able. It was definitely hard to find time to work out, but even with a C-section I started taking walks when she was 4 weeks.

Anyway, I'm really excited that it's almost time for baby boy's arrival, and exercising is definitely a fun thing to look forward to and eventually involve your baby in! I can't wait to take E for rides with a baby seat on the bike once Fall comes! But you should know you look GREAT as is!!

  5. Love those shoes! They will definitely come in handy once Grayson arrives, you will probably be itching to get outdoors! :) I ordered running shoes right after A was born. I was so ready to get back into exercising. Not much longer for you! :)

  6. Sweet shoes! Getting close honey xx

  7. YAY.. Your days are ticking away and we can't wait for the welcoming of your little miracle...
