17 weeks

How far along: 17w
Total weight gain/loss: +4 pounds
How big is Baby: Baby is about the size of an onion, or 5.1 inches long!

Maternity Clothes: Yes! I love them! I bought two pairs of workout pants. So comfy.
Sleep: Sleep is okay. I still wake up on my back sometimes and it's getting more & more uncomfortable.
Movement: I think I felt a tiny bit of something. It felt like bubbles. I can't wait to feel more movement!
Food cravings: Chicken Fried Rice. Vons Turkey & swiss sandwich. Peanut butter M&M's. This has been a blah week with food.
Food aversions: Nothing specific, but things aren't sounding good again. I've had trouble deciding on what to eat.
Gender: It's a BOY!
Symptoms: Round Ligament Pain. Some nausea. Vivid dreams. Emotional. Feeling off balance.
Best moment this week: No specific moments this week, but I have some of my energy back and that feels good.
What I am looking forward to: Same as last week: Feeling him move!!! And agreeing on a name :)

My emotions have really taken over this week. I have been crying a lot. I had a horrible nightmare that I went into labor way too soon and lost our baby. Then I sat on the computer Friday night, watching wedding videos my sweet friend Rachel took for us {thank goodness for her! If there was one thing I could change about our wedding, it would be to have hired a videographer. The videos she took mean the world to me and I can never thank her enough.} I was laughing and enjoying them, and then my Grandparents appeared in one of them, dancing together. It was my Grandpa that we lost a few months after our wedding way too soon from cancer, the one I wasn't able to truly say goodbye to. I lost it and couldn't stop crying. I have cried many times since that day, but this time was different. It was intense and I was home alone. All I kept thinking was "what I wouldn't give to have just one more day with him."

My Grandpa on my Dad's side has been ill and his health is declining. We are going to drive out to see him this weekend since we don't really know how much longer he has. It will be good to see family and spend some quality time with him.

xoxo,
Megan

  1. I'm so sorry this has been an emotional week for you. Grandparents are so special and it sounds like you had quite a grandpa. I hope you find some peace today in knowing he is watching over you and your little one. So excited to hear you might be feeling movement! That has to be such a wonderful feeling!

  2. These are such stressful times when we know we have to let go but we feel it is not time yet. I lost my dad and to this day I can not look at a photo without crying like it happened today. I do however more days in between and also find happy things and memories to think about but it is still so hard. Take care of yourself.
