So, I have been thinking....

I know this might sound like I am being a "negative Nelly" or that I am worrying about something I have no control over, but I have been thinking a lot about the what-ifs. The Semen Analysis and CD3 blood work came back normal. I haven't had an HSG yet. But if I do, what if my HSG is normal too? What are our next steps? It appears we should have no problems, but I am still not getting pregnant. It's been 12 full cycles and a full year since we started trying. At what point do you decide to do more? And what would be the first step? Do I see an OB next or an RE? I feel so lost. Of course I am thrilled that our test results have been normal, but I am also confused about the future. I guess there is no definitive answer to these what-ifs. I hate waiting ::sigh::

  1. I always struggled with this. Everything for us has come back normal (blood work, HSG, SA etc.) Once we hit 13 months of trying, we decided to move on to the RE. We still don't have any answers and it looks like we'll be heading down the path of unexplained infertility. It's definitely tough! On the one hand you're grateful that everything comes back normal, but on the other hand, you kind of wish there was a problem so that you could just go ahead and fix it!

  2. I would schedule your SHG right away to rule anything out, and then go right to the RE. It really doesn't make any sense to go to the OBGYN since there really isn't much they can do. If things all tests are still coming out normal, I would assume your next step could be Clomid or an IUI. Good luck!

  3. I truly hope that this is your cycle Mrs. B! I hope your worrying is over! But its not a bad idea to get an HSG done. Your ob can order it or move on to a RE. Once you get a HSG you chances of getting pregnant afterwards does go up some.

Clomid does help grow a bigger follicle and make for a better ovulation! I wish you the best girlie!!!
