49 lbs!

That's the total that the Mr. and I have lost, combined. I can't believe we did that! I really can't. I will always struggle with my love addiction to delicious food, but now I know how to enjoy in moderation. And I've fallen in love with mountain biking. It's helping me build muscle and shed more pounds.

To celebrate this weight loss, I have been looking around for some new wardrobe ideas. I am not the most fashionable person, but I am trying ;) Target is my favorite for shoes. They always have my size {ginormous} and lots of flats to choose from. The Mr. is a teensy bit shorter than I am, so I am always in flat shoes. I bought:

Blue & white canvas sneakers. Mr. B picked them out. And only $9! Can't beat that!

I even bought a pair of shorts! ::gasp::

Now I am on the hunt for summer dresses and tops, in my new smaller size :)

So, I have been thinking....

I know this might sound like I am being a "negative Nelly" or that I am worrying about something I have no control over, but I have been thinking a lot about the what-ifs. The Semen Analysis and CD3 blood work came back normal. I haven't had an HSG yet. But if I do, what if my HSG is normal too? What are our next steps? It appears we should have no problems, but I am still not getting pregnant. It's been 12 full cycles and a full year since we started trying. At what point do you decide to do more? And what would be the first step? Do I see an OB next or an RE? I feel so lost. Of course I am thrilled that our test results have been normal, but I am also confused about the future. I guess there is no definitive answer to these what-ifs. I hate waiting ::sigh::

More "Renovations", this time back to the backyard!

I know, I haven't even posted the "after" pictures of the Master bedroom and bathroom yet. But I promise they are coming soon. They are 99% done. We like to start new projects even when there is more to do on the existing ones ::sigh::

The Mr. has been begging me to remove our pond. It had a leak somewhere in the plastic liner, it cost $20 or so every month in electrical and it was very difficult to keep clean. Plus the Herons were always eating our fish :(

The Task List:
  • Remove the pond, fill in & level the dirt and remove current plants
  • Build new walls and move Tom's enclosure over where the pond used to be
  • Plant a tortoise mix for him to eat, some cactus and shade plants/trees
  • Build or buy a bench for the Mr. and I to sit and watch Tom. He is so fun to watch and right now we don't have anything good to sit on in his enclosure.
  • Build or buy Tom a new house for sleeping and shade
  • Plant a garden in the old part of Tom's enclosure

The Progress, so far:

Cutting up the pond liner, to throw it away. Apollo likes to help his Daddy :)

Filled in the pond hole, leveled and removed the plants. This area will be all Tom's when it's done.

This is Tom's existing area.

A little drawing to help you visualize the future of this area ;)

Hope

“Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?”

Test results are in!

Mr. B's semen analysis came back with stellar results and my CD3 blood work was all normal. I feel very grateful that everything is normal. I guess the next step is a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) I am due for my pap, so while I am there I will ask her if she agrees. I am going to wait until after this cycle. I guess I am trying to have hope that I won't even need the HSG! And because I am a big sissy about having it done ;)

Anza-Borrego Camping Trip

We had so much fun this past weekend! My Mom, sister, Mr. B and I camped for two nights in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, specifically in Borrego Palm Canyon. I picked a few favorites to share. Enjoy.

I love Spring!

Everything is in bloom.

I hand painted a bird house for our backyard. Hopefully someone makes it their home. I love birds.

And speaking of birds, I have been watching this Bald Eagle momma and her three babies live all day, every day. Daddy stops by every once in a while and drops off a meal. The third baby just hatched today. It is sooooo amazing to watch her with the babies. I hope you enjoy as much as I am!

Let Go

These lyrics really spoke to me this morning. Today is CD1 of cycle 12.

Let Go by Frou Frou

drink up, baby down
mmm, are you in or are you out
leave your things behind
'cause it's all going off without you
excuse me, too busy you're writing your tragedy
these mishaps
you bubble wrap
when you've no idea what you're like

so let go, jump in
oh well, whatcha waiting for
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown
so let go, just get in
oh, it's so amazing here
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown

it gains the more it gives
and then it rises with the fall
so hand me that remote
can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow

such boundless pleasure
we've no time for later now
you can't await your own arrival
you've 20 seconds to comply

so let go, jump in
oh well, whatcha waiting for
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown
so let go, just get in
oh, it's so amazing here
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown

Good News

My five year review was a few weeks ago, as I mentioned in a previous post, and it went really well. I finally finished negotiations with my boss in regards to my promotion and counter-offer for my raise. He called me into his office on Friday to discuss the email I sent him last Friday. I skipped the BS and told him I am worth more than what I asked him for. And then he gave me what I wanted!!! Yay! I was promoted into a new position and received a $10,000/year raise, plus a really great bonus structure. I am really proud of myself!
