Nursery
- Remove current items in room
- Deep clean the room {it's currently a dog room}
- Remove existing ceiling fan & replace with new
- Remove dog door and patch opening
- Paint
- Curtains for window {& new ones for the closet}
- Hang shelves & artwork
- Furniture - crib, dresser, glider, lamps, rug, etc.
- New A/C unit!
- Move dog potty area {gravel} to dirt patch on other side of the house - We obviously don't want those smells wafting through the window into the nursery.
- Extend sprinklers and lay sod in the old dog potty area
- Remove dog fencing
- Transplant tree to provide shade to the outside wall of the nursery
- Replace can light connectors. Our current ones are constantly going out.
- Rugs
- New flooring in living room, kitchen & hallways. Bedrooms & bathrooms already have travertine tile from our original remodel 5 years ago. We would love dark wood floors, but it will depend on the cost.
- "Spring Cleaning" - throw away/donate/garage sale items we no longer need and organize storage bins & storage areas in the garage
- Finish tile countertops
- Install trim at base of cabinets
- Stove hood
- Hang shelving
- New door for master bathroom. Currently it opens into the room and causes problems when Apollo sleeps right outside the door. We need a pocket door or sliding barn type of door.
- Install bathroom fans
Some before photos, because everyone loves photos :)
Future nursery, from outside in the dog run
that dirt patch under the hammock will be the new dog potty area
I'm sure the room will turn out beautiful! I love before and after pics :)I feel like my list of things to do just keeps growing- haha!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! I agree with Jonny and Brittany - the room will be awesome! I can see all the potential! Good luck with your projects :)
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a lengthy list! Good thing you have the AC covered. You'll have to pick a spot where it doesn't occupy too much space. And you'll want to make sure it's far from plants or any shrubbery you might want to grow in the future, because chemical leaks from the AC's system could keep that from happening.

It’s amazing how the arrival of the baby lead to that lengthy list of projects. Were you able to accomplish all of them? Anyway, the nursery room will be much more comfy with its new AC and ceiling fan. I hope the renovation turned out well for all of you. Good day!
